Web Mode

Web Mode - Works as a web server which displays current graph image to web clients. Users can use a Web Browser - Internet Explorer - to view the curve graph.

Press Mode Mode => Web

A new window will be opened, named Web Mode

In Options Select New Server

Press Server Settings button

A new window will be opened, named WebServer Settings

Press Browse button and go to LabDeck Plotter Virtual Server Directory.

This directory is in the Root of LabDeck Plotter directory and is named VirtualServer or LabDeckVirtualRoot .depending on the software version. Root of LabDeck Plotter directory is usually in Program Files/LabDeck/ Plotter/ .

Users can create and specify a different name and different directory position of web server directory in Browse. In this case it needs to copy all LabDeck Plotter Web Server files into that different directory.

Users need to specify in Default web page within Server Directory. Usually Default web page is default.html Port Number is 80 and Transfer is 4096 - these are the default values.

If users wish to save this web configuration - they can press Save Settings but it is not necessary and this is an option.

Press OK button in VirtualRoot Window to close window.

Return to Web Mode window, Select one of users computers IP addresses then Press Run Server button.

It is important to remember that the shown IP address of users computer is shown as the server.

The Plotter Graph window will be shown as a web page with the web address, which is the IP address of the Plotter Server - users computer . Users can open that web page with Internet Explorer. The web page will be updated every - Refreshing Interval . This means if Refreshing Interval is set 3 seconds then the web page will update every 3 seconds.

Users have the option to use other web servers apart from LabDeck Plotter Web Server. In this case the following needs to be set:

  • In Web Mode window, Option box - set Use Existing Server
  • In Directory Path on right-hand side of window, Browse to Virtual root of the different web server.

Press OK to close Web Mode window .

If users wish to stop Plotter Web Server they need to open Web Mode window again and Press STOP button .

 

Web server additional information:

Default port for HTTP protocol is 80.

If this has been used by another application, users need to specify the port number for HTTP - (port for web). Usually ports in a PC are already occupied up to number 1000. Therefore it is recommend to choose any port which is more than 1000.

Example:

  • If your port 80 is not available for web use then, if you have specified port 4000 in your browser users need to type: http://100.100.100.100:4000 where 100.100.1000.100 is the address of user's PC
  • If your web port is 80 then the address will be http://100.100.100.100

 

When a user runs the web server it will show the following web page

Select LabDeck Plotter , Internet Explorer will display the next web page.
